BCCD is pleased to introduce the latest addition to our team:  Brian Wait.  Brian joined BCCD at the first of May as our new Weed Supervisor.  Brian was born and raised in Campo.  His folks are Walter Wait from Campo and Edna Wait from Springfield.  Brian’s fiancé Rachel has two little girls, Hailey and Hope, and they are living in Campo.

Brian has spent the past several years driving semi for oil companies in Oklahoma. He wanted to move back home to be near family.

Brian received his Qualified Supervisor chemical applicator’s license in early June. He is out there on the ground doing a great job of scouting and spraying invasive species for BCCD. Keep reading to see what he has located and is controlling...

The picture below is why BCCD is working so diligently on eradicating Scotch Thistle in the county. Tanner Meltabarger stands 6’2”, and as you can see this patch of Scotch is over his head in places. It can get up to 10 feet tall and completely impede livestock’s access to water on creeks. We are controlling this infestation on Soldier Creek, to keep it from moving further down stream.
